I’ve been following the uproar over Brands in Public these past few days on Twitter and the blogs. There are a lot of disappointed people out there (I’ve tried to capture the prevailing sentiment in the toon featured on the right).
I don’t know Seth Godin all that well. I never finished his book Tribes. I’ve never heard him speak but I do read his blog from time to time (which I like). All I know is what other people have written about him which until recently was mainly positive.
Personally, I think Godin’s venture is kind of interesting and rather than jump on the Seth Godin Is Evil bandwagon, I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt. From what I read, he’s smarter and more successful than most of us anyway. That should count for something. Right?
That said, there’s nothing like controversy to get the cartooning juices flowing. So, thanks for all the tweets and blog posts. I couldn’t have done it without you.
