Users can now hide content on the Newsvetter site from public view. The hiding feature (enabled by checking the hidden box on the vetting questionnaire) was designed mainly for users who want to embargo a story or want to shop a story idea around to specific journalists or bloggers.
That said, this site is a Web community so there is a time limit to how long a story will remain hidden. Unless otherwise specified, the story will go public on the site after 14 days (30 days is the maximum number of days a story will remain hidden). Of course, a user can make their story public at anytime simply by unchecking the box.
