Startups are tough on the spirit. I've been working on Newsvetter for about a year. I started developing the prototype about this time last year and soft launched in Nov. of 2007. Emotional ups and downs go with the territory and you quickly realize how important incremental successes can be for your state of mind. So, it's always a pleasure to hear from people who have used Newsvetter and found the process valuable.
After seeing a post about Newsvetter on PRNewser one user recently decided she would give Newsvetter a test drive. As I do with most users, I solicited feedback about her experience. Her testimonial is posted below (with permission):
"I found it worked well. I liked that I had to answer some hard, targeted questions about the story and how it was relevant for each source. These are things I always think about before I send out a press release, but I don't usually have to write out answers to the "why me/who is my readership/what do you want me to do with this information" questions that a journalist should have when reviewing a press release. That process helped me crystallize for myself and (I hope) for the target what it is that I'm really trying to accomplish. I hope also that the target can see that I've put some extra effort into making sure s/he gets this press release and that it is relevant. I hope that when a journalist sees that, s/he takes me seriously and actually opens the press release. I certainly plan on using Newsvetter again; I think it ultimately makes my work stronger."
